MindStrength for Girls Retreat

We are excited to announce our FIRST annual retreat in 2021 in St. George, UT!

Teen girls have a hard enough time navigating life from 12-18 years old. Now add Covid to the mix with reduced school activities and time with friends and their self-esteem plummets. As a mom I began searching for experiences for my daughters to have this summer because of the weird year they have had. I wanted to find something that would touch on specific topics around confidence building and resilience. But couldn't find one so.......I created my own!

The MindStrength for Girls Retreat gives girls ages 12 to 18 the opportunity to spend intentional time in a fun, safe, and intimate environment developing lifelong friendships and increasing their awareness about who they are.

In addition to making new friendships, the girls will engage in group team-building activities, listen to guest speakers, and participate in nature activities (i.e. Zions National Park & Sand Hollow State Park), service and other hands on activities during the retreat.

"Stand Up. Stand Out. Stand Strong." will be the theme of the retreat. Each word there has a significance to the coaching they will receive as well as the activities they will experience. Each girl will return home more fully prepared to embrace her strengths and ready to face her challenges with renewed courage and optimism.

We will be offering TWO sessions held in St. George, Utah.
We plan to hold our first session June 7-11 and the second session June 21-25.

Space is limited to 18 girls so the retreat will be small and intimate.

Price increase after April 30th to $397 so get your ticket early!

Why Join us

Small and Safe Environment

MindStrength for Girls Retreat provides a well-supervised experience. Each day is full of a range of activities. With their mentor, participants will meet in smaller groups out in nature, make crafts, offer service, have fun, and simply enjoy time learning and growing with their group.

Friends

Friendship is a foundation of the MindStrength for Girls retreat. There is nothing that can replace getting to know similar-age girls who find they are each dealing with similar challenges and life experiences. Time spent together is sure to unite and create long-lasting friends – many of who will be there long after the retreat has ended.

Fun

From the first afternoon to the final experience together, fun is a common strand that will run through their week at MindStrength for Girls. Cool, unique experiences in nature, a variety of group activities, energetic mentors, service, evening activities and so much more can come together to make their week at the retreat the best of their year – year after year!

Small groups and Mentors

Your daughter will be put into a group. They will have plenty of solo time to reconnect with themselves, one-on-one time with their own personal mentor, time with a small group they will be assigned to, and time with the entire group.

We have an incredible team of mentors who will be at the retreat with us at all times. It's also a fairly small retreat so we will be able to keep track of the girls at all times. Every mentor will be a female and will go through an in-depth training before working with the girls.

Sleeping arrangements

We will be staying at my (Sarah Chapman- founder) vacation home and it has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Your daughter be sharing a room between 3-6 girls and will be constantly supervised in an assigned group that will include an adult mentor. If you have a friend you will be coming with and want to room with please let us know by emailing us at mindstrengthforgirls@gmail.com.

Activities

We will have the opportunity to venture out of the home into nature during the week. With all that the St. George area has to offer in regards to hiking and experiencing water activities we want the girls to have that experience.

We plan to go into Zion National Park to hike (no not the extreme hikes just the nice casual less than 3 mile hikes) as well as Sand Hollow State park to go kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming.

Food & Snacks

We will do our best to accommodate their dietary needs. We will make sure that our mentors know of any food preferences (vegan/vegetarian) and allergies.

Your teenager is welcome to bring snacks and treats- especially if they have diet restrictions. We will make sure to have delicious, filling, plentiful food. They will be doing a lot of the cooking themselves (always supervised of course). Let's work together on making sure your daughter has the food they want and need at the retreat. We really want the girls to LOVE our retreat so they want to come back and we know girls need good food to be a part of their good memories.

Phones

Phones are allowed at retreat, but we will encourage the kids to only use them at specific times. We want them to take pictures and capture their experience at retreat. Wi-fi will be available to them. If you are concerned about it, you can share that concern with us and we will come up with a plan you feel comfortable with.

Safety

We promise to go above and beyond to take the best care of your daughters. We will make sure they wear their seat belts, they will eat plenty of vegetables, and we will do our very best to facilitate an experience where they build confidence, make friends, learn valuable skills, get to play and be a kid, and grow as a leader.

We will take every precaution we can possibly think of to keep your daughter safe, however, there will definitely be risks. By sending your kid to our retreat, you agree to take the risks. No matter what, there are always risks in life.

Liability & Medical History forms

After you have registered we will email you two forms to fill out to complete the registration. If these are not filled out in time and emailed back before the session starts you daughter will not be able to attend until done so.

Discipline policy

We have a "three strikes you're out" policy. We will give the girls two warnings before we call parents to come pick up. We can't let anyone negatively taint the experience for the other girls.
